Recovery CD for Toshiba Satellite L50D - A Model PSKMAC-005004

I am working on my friends laptop and wiped out the data. He did not make a recovery cd. How do I restore the OS. thanks

Hold down the "0" key on the keyboard, then press the "Power" button to turn on the notebook. If a screen appears asking you to select a Windows 7 version, choose the appropriate version and click "OK." If not, continue holding down the "0" key and allow the notebook to continue booting up.

Release the "0" key when the warning screen appears. Click "Yes" to start the Toshiba Recovery Wizard

Select "Recovery of Factory Default Software" from the list of options, then click "Next." The "Recovery of Factory Default Software" dialog box will open.

Click "Recover to out-of-box state," then click "Next." A final warning that resetting your Toshiba Satellite to factory default will erase all of your data will appear. Click "Next" to initiate the recovery. The Satellite will display a confirmation message when the recovery process is complete. Press any key to restart the notebook. The Toshiba Satellite will boot up to the Windows 7 setup screen, which will let you begin setting up and personalizing Windows.

How did you wipe out the data? if you deleted the recovery partition, you can buy a recovery disk from toshiba. go thru the support site.

Thank you ffg7 for your response. I did the 'hold down the 0 key' and got into recovery/fix screens. I think I went into advanced and it said something about removing data and I just read it as data thinking that the os was safe but then I had nothing. I have loaded it up with Ubuntu Mate and I did check if there was a partition in the hd but none. Soooo I will get recovery discs from Toshiba!

I wiped out the data in a careless act of not thinking. I assumed data was the data and not the os or that it was protected in a safe partition. But nooooooooooo it was gone as in gone; I turned on the legacy bios and then this morning I loaded it up with Ubuntu mate; and there was no partition. thank you so now to plan B: it means be careful.
