Recovery/retrieval/from sd card/android/deleted txts

Been reading about/ attempting downloads (always shows requires wi fi) and etc.
Have an android google, had some very important threads of txt messages, added video, and somehow deleted the entire thread of txts.
Should still be in the memory of the phone, but unable to retrieve the conversations. Why?

Your text messages are stored on the SIM card of your phone. You may give a shot for SIM card data recovery software. But I'm not sure if they work.
