Solved! Red Bar on LCD Screen

Hello,

We have Samsung LNT3732HX 40 Inch LCD

There is currently a red barring about 5 inches thick running vertically on the screen.

It pops up then the TV is off for a while and then will come back on eventually.

There is currently a red barring about 5 inches thick running vertically on the screen.

It pops up then the TV is off for a while and then will come back on eventually.

It could be one of three things:

Your model is known for bad capacitors on the power supply. Check for bulging or domed caps. They can cause visual aberrations.

Could be a bad T-Con board. If you thunk on the back of the set, center-top, does it improve?

Could be a bad panel. Normally they don't paint a stripe that big, but anything's possible.

First tought, best thought - check the power supply.
