[citation][nom]scythe944[/nom]"We have very few rules here on reddit; no spamming, no cheating, no personal info, nothing illegal..."Like Child porn or suggestive images relating to children wouldn't have been illegal in the first place?[/citation]
Me posting a home movie of my little boy in a swimming pool would be totally innocuous to me and anyone normal buy would probably be hot stuff for a pedophile, so would they ban my home movie just cos some sicko gets off on it?

[citation][nom]JustPlainJef[/nom]When guys have a thing for girls with braces, that's just not right. [/citation]
So when a 34 year old woman I knew got braces and I still thought she looked sexy I became a paedophile! My God! Someone arrest me! I've been a danger to everyone around me for over a year now!!!!

Banning "suggestive" is extremely open to personal opinion and leaves things wide open for all sorts of drama. There is also a massive difference between someone who is after a minor and someone who is after a pre-pubescent child. You have to be a special kind of twisted for the latter while the former is simply natural and only illegal in western societies because someone picked an arbitrary age.

If one of you had sex with a girl who looked 24, but turned out to be 16, you'd be grouped with the same person who stalks children at grade school with a van that says "Free Candy". You'd be a pedophile and it would ruin your life. There should be a distinction between the two and they should have separate names, pedophile and minorphile or something haha.

They do: "Ephebophile" and "Hebephile".

[citation][nom]JustPlainJef[/nom]These girls weren't 34, more like 14. I said girls, not women.[/citation]
OK, you'll have to forgive me for that. I frequently refer to "women" as "girls", as do a lot of people. Perhaps you should have been more specific. But that's the problem with this whole blanket ban business, isn't it? A lack of transparency and specificity.

Nobody uses it though. Everyone just gets grouped into the same extreme pedophile label no matter what they did.

Indeed. Because the majority of people are too ill-educated either to know the terminology or consider the subtleties of the situation. It's easier just to label someone a paedo and burn them at the stake so we can get back to watching the X Factor.

"That's what all the "le" stuff was about, I recall. Some sort of secret code for pedophiles. Reddit is truly one of the most disgusting websites around"

That is one of the most ignorant, uninformed posts I've seen.

Wow, this is the first article I've ever read about anything even remotely related to CP where people haven't all unanimously declared that everyone involved should be beaten/shot/burned/killed. For once people are actually discussing this reasonably. Having a photo of a fully clothed 17yo girl is not CP.

[citation][nom]eddieroolz[/nom]Not sure about the suggestive part but I'm surprised Reddit even allowed explicit child pornography in the first place.[/citation]

Obvious troll is obvious.

they do have different names,

Pedophilia - generally applied to 13 and younger,
Hebephilia - 11-14 specifically
Ephebophilia - 15-19 specificity.

i know there are ones that are specific to even younger, but a quick wiki and me not wanting to google it are holding me back.

the problem is people know what a pedo is, and apply it to everything, regardless of how well it fits.

surprised the hell out of me too... granted me downloading bulk files forced me to learn about laws like this, where you cant use reasonable ignorance as a defense...
