I've got a Series 2 TiVo, software version 7.1. Is there a way to find
out how much time is REMAINING on your tivo, as opposed to how much
total you can hold?

Not really, no. (If you have hacked your TiVo, you can, but otherwise, no.)

Most TiVos are usually 'full'.

One way to gauge how much space is available is to look at the number of
TiVo Suggestions have been recorded.

That's number 5,295,002,147.

Available space is unused space plus Suggestions space plus program space
that may be deleted for new recordings.

That assumes that everything is recorded at the same quality level.

this is too complicated for teh TIVO developers to handle.

Hopefully after working with the Comcast developers for a couple fo
years they will figure out how to do this.

I notice the only thing you took from my post was the fact that I don't
like the lack of disk space indication. I'm glad you're glad.

Will you also agree that the lack of such a function has nothing to do
with the inability of Tivo engineers to actually program it, and
everything to do with it being a deliberate choice?

If this is a choice between

a. they are too stupid to figure out how to program it

b. they are too stupid to implement it

I'd have to go with

c. all of the above.

Such a douchebag. You are truly incapable of answering a direct
question, aren't you?

(hint: that is a direct question)

Do you use the same social skills in the real world that you do here
and, if so, what's it like to be an adult virgin?

It's a hell of a lot better than thinking about him actually
propagating! Some genes are better often staying out of the pool! ;-)

No time for that right now but it's good to see that you don't dispute
your disdain for the mentally handicapped.

Maybe now you can get some help for what's causing this.

Good luck,
Sean

I notice you've gone off on a tangent here and are still refusing to
answer my direct question.

I also notice you're avoiding proving what you claim to be true (that
Randy is a racist) later in this thread.

Typical. You're a complete idiot and an utter waste of carbon.

What the hell is it with your bias against the young? Before you rail
against someone else's bigotry, why not remove the plank from your own
eye first?

Who are you talking to?

It is a common custom to quote a bit of the posting you are referencing
so that your antecedents actually make sense.

Ahh, it's not worth it. Whenever Sean appears so stupid that he can't
deny it, he goes off on some weird tangent and attacks the person who
made him look stupid in the first place.

Apologies. As I've discovered, unless I manually cut and paste, my
work computer appears to include quotes, but they don't show up.

Looks like you're using google - try this...

Instead of hitting reply directly, hit 'show options' and select the
reply from there.
