Solved! Remove DVD drive

Hello, I want to remove the DVD drive so my laptop get's a little more lighter, but my concern is what to do with the 'hole' on the left side of my laptop once is taken out. Is it ok to block it with duct tape? Has anyone else done this before?

Another idea....some of those DVD players have a removable front panel.

Maybe you can just fit the front panel in there somehow.

Duct tape will work. You may want to carve down some packaging foam to fit in the hole to give a little more solidity to the tape.

If you're a stickler about appearance, the more popular laptops have fitted plastic cutouts for the hole available on eBay (your mod is commonly done by people wishing to replace the DVD drive with a second hard drive or SSD).
