I have a bausch & lomb discoverer zoom telescope. It has a canon FD mounting adapter. I am not able to unmount it from the scope, the lens locking ring slipped off. (Due to the setting screws backing out enough to slip of the collar.) When I try to unthread the collar (Believing it is right hand thread therefore turning it counterclockwise. It just runs the rear optic lens into the body of the scope until the collar bottoms out on the rear of the lens body threads.) I dont want to use great force for fear of harming the mechanics of the lens movement. How does the adapter mount and dismount? I want to attach it to a Minolta Maxxum 9 camera body.
