So my laptop running IE or Chrome will not connect to websites with https: and it will not allow me to remove the S. If I type http:www.websitename.com the address automatically adds the S and I get https:www.websitename.com

This includes websites saved in my favorites or ones that are linked in word documents etc. It will always change the http to https.

Is there a way to remove the automatic change to my web addresses as I can no longer use the internet, every page comes up with the Cannot connect to website page.

Thanks

some websites wont work without HTTPS. if you are unable to browse using HTTPS there must be something wrong with the certificates or systems data and time. Also virus/malware infection cannot be ruled out. Can you post error screenshot for better understanding?

Its just the default "This page cannot be displayed" that I've seen in IE whenever the internet is not connected.

Systems data and time? As in the date/time on the laptop?

Edit= typed while the previous post was entered, I see that https is required and I just cant access the sites on my laptop

It was the date/time. It was set for 2007 so just a little off.

I had tried Firefox with no luck but it seems that Chrome/IE/FF all work if I use my brain and keep the date up to speed.

Thanks for the help guys.
