I need to replace a DVD player for a Toshiba Satellite P75-A7200 laptop. How do I do that?

I'm not sure how similar this laptop (link below) is compared to yours but after watching it, it seems that some laptops are very similar when it comes to replacing the DVD player.

Provided you get the appropriate sizing (slimline vs 'standard' etc) it should work - can't quite tell which type would be in there.

Ultimately it just connects to a SATA interface, and optical drives are pretty generic, so drivers should be available (if required).

They may be tough to come by though, for a reasonable price anyway. You could always consider an external optical drive that connects via USB

Am I missing something here? I don't see any information about the drive (i.e. Pioneer- BDR-UD02TBD)? The Specs on it say its a DVD SuperMulti, which tells me nothing.

Totally my opinion only.

laptop opticals are pretty generic, you just have to know which one the standard or the slim, don't quote me I think 9mm or 12mm thick. The remaining item is, to make thing look stock (as if you got it directly from laptop vendor) the front bezel must match else you gonna end up with an ugly hole.

So take it apart, put a caliper on it see how thick the thing is, pull off the bezel and notice how it's mounted and the location of the eject button, buy replacement that looks like it will fit, location of the eject button.

Don't want to go through all this hassle? by directly from laptop vendor or go external.

Pssshhh... once you take it out, you may find a label that says this optical is made by... LG model blah-blah, and BAM! there u go, just buy another like it, if all you are interested is a direct replacement.
