Replace internal A75-s209's dvd-rom with DVD-r?

Hi, is it possible to replace the internal CDRW/DVD-Rom drive in the Toshiba Satellite
a75-209 laptop, with another internal drive ( I want to put a DVD burner in). I would prefer
to keep it simple and avoid having to carry around excess drives.

Toshiba's website doesn't list any replacement drive, and ebay doesn't seem to be helpful.
Can this be done, or is it unremoveable? thanks

It might be possible, but it's a long discussion and there are a ton of
potential pitfalls. This has been discussed in-depth previously on this
