Replace on board ati hd 4250

Hey guys,

I take off my faulty on board hd 4250 and now I'm wondering if I can replace it with an other hd 4250 from a different motherboard on a different laptop.

Hi,

I would say it will not fit since different manufacturers of laptop design their motherboard specifically to fit their own cases. But if the motherboard where you'll get the other board is from the same brand and model that should work just fine.

I'm not planning to replace the whole motherboard, but only the on board gpu.

Tough to tell with laptops because they are usually pretty custom for how the connections are, or even how the core chips are integrated into the system. Won't hurt to try though if you have the part, can't make it worse.
