Hello again, folks! You've always been a helpful bunch. Before I spend some money, I wanted to get ya'll's opinion. I'm buying a replacement AC adapter and battery for our ancient Compaq Presario V2000. My mother just wants to use it to display reference photos for her art, so we're not looking for another laptop/netbook.
Battery model no: 396600-001
AC Adapter model no: 402018-001
Awhile ago the cord on the adapter frayed, the box on the adapter got hot, and the battery failed to hold a charge. (It would charge to 100% and then drop within fifteen minutes.) In addition, the charger wouldn't work unless the cord was held at a precise angle.
For replacements, I'm thinking of these.
