One of my ReplayTV units has developed the following:

It seems to freeze after a certain amount of time... Therefore,
doesn't even record when it is supposed to.

The only way for me to unfreeze it is to unplug the unit and start
again.

When I start again, it takes me through the initialization steps, like
zip code, what is attached to the ReplayTV, etc.

Has anyone seen this?
Thanks,
Jim

Sounds like you have a defective hard drive. Three common defective hard
drive symtoms are; freezing, lost guide data and banging sound from inside
the recorder.

I sell Replaytv ready to install hard drives. If interested please take a
look at my web site www.ReplayTvParts.com

Are you turning your ReplayTv unit off when not viewing? Since it records
live TV so you can pause and rewind, if your disk is pretty full, it can
record until the disk is full just sitting on one channel and freeze up when
full. Resetting the unit recaptures your freespace. It used to happen to me
and a ReplayTv tech told me to always turn off the unit when not in use (it
will still record your shows when off).
