Um...... Not sure what Verizon needs a iPhone for. They already have plenty of Android based phones that are sky rocketing in popularity.

Apple sells the iPhone in more places than just America. Aren't there other countries out there with carriers that use CDMA besides the U.S.? My point is, even if Apple is making CDMA iPhones, doesn't mean they're coming to America much less Verizon. Heck, maybe Sprint wants the iPhone, did anyone think about that?

Doubt Sprint wants the iPhone much either, considering their newest phones are capitalizing on 4G.

Bigger screen? 1.2 GHz processor? Sounds more like Verizon will carry the speculated 7" iPad mini W/O At&t's exclusivity contract. Makes a lot more sense with their Android line-up for Q1 '11

No, not really. The world is mostly GSM.

Because it sells perhaps? Android surpassed the IPhone not because it was more popular but because it is on a bazillion different handsets on all carriers vs IPhone just being on one crappy carrier. I work for a company that does business worldwide and the users in other countries experience non of the crap we get here in the US with the IPhone. Verizon or Sprint or whoever ends up getting the IPhone will see a huge sales regardless of the Android devices. IPhone sells on AT&T despite them having a Android device, it will do the same on Verizon.

Don't believe any of the items mentioned in this article. Verizon passed on the iPhone the first time around because Apple would not except the phone being changed in any way for the carrier, in fact the carriers had to change to meet Apple's demands. And that was when Apple had zero clout in the phone industry. They certainly aren't going to except demands from Verizon now that they have all kinds of weight to throw around.

Why would any carrier want to carry a phone that has such reception issues and then have it compete against its droid and other smart-phone devices makes no sense. Let the doomed iphone4 stay with at&t. Maybe an iPhone5 would be a better choice for the carriers, knowing they would have a functional device, especially since CDMA only uses 2 frequencies instead of the GSM's 4.

Verizon is a business, the more great phones they have the more customers stay with the company. Also, this article clearly says that it will have a different antenna setup. It is not like Verizon makes the phones they sell. They make money on some of them and others they done, they sell them to get more contracts. I know a ton of people that bought the IPhone 4 and plan on jumping ship from At&t to move to Verizon once it is available. I know another ton that are just keeping their current IPhones until Verizon gets it and then will upgrade. People are dissatisfied with AT&T's service more than the device.

Actually, no.

Why would any carrier want an Iphone, hmm, for subscribers and new customers. 8 million Iphone 4s sold worldwide in a couple of months is why, any and all carriers would want the Iphone.

well lets hope verizon doest get robbed like the way at&t did when they buy the devices from apple and hope to recoup the costs over the contract-length. ugh $600bux or somethings like that. and if verizon wanted to make their own fone they would have audiovox do it! lol

What are you talking about? Android is more popular exactly for the reasons you state and more.

[citation][nom]TheBlade[/nom]Maybe a 4GS?[/citation]
The 4G doesn't exist, so it wouldn't be a 4GS. When will the public understand that the iPhone 4 is a 3G phone?

Will people keep holding it the "wrong" way? Guess people should be able to hold phones the way they want it!
