Solved! Retailer and IMEI questions

My phone was stolen and I don't have any of the original packaging nor the contract does my local retailer have a copy of my phones IMEI number anywhere in the system and if they do can a law officer track the IMEI number I suspect the person may have wiped the phone clean, pulled the Sim card, or put his own in the phone

The company that gave you the telephone service should be able to tell you where it was last time it was turned on. You should have notified them as soon as the phone was missing. They will expect you to pay the cost of any calls and/or mobile data the thief or the finder used before they turned off the supply.

They won't cut it off until you notify them.
