Rewiring mini-headphones

my dog chewed through the wire. i have been trying for nearly two hours to rewire the headset but there is completely no sound. any suggestions?

Cut the chewed part of the wire off. Strip both ends of the remaining segments, twist the corresponding wires with each other, then wrap with electrical tape, making sure to keep both wires separate from each other. After testing it to see if it works, wrap more electrical tape around both wires to seal the deal.
