I'll tell you what: I will agree to this IF and WHEN the RIAA and the MPAA and BMI and ASCAP are ALL audited EVERY YEAR to make sure that the artists involved actually get their royalty payments. Unless THEIR computers are open, there is NO reason why ours should have to be. The music industry (especially) has for decades been hauled into court by artists who are getting screwed by them and usually lose BIG TIME.
Sorry, but to trust those who have proved themselves to be crooks every time they turn around is a fool's game. I have NO intention of trusting them for a freaking heartbeat, let alone with the contents of my computer. And for the record, I am a professional musician (for the last 35 years), and am thoroughly disgusted by those in charge of my industry. Crooks and thieves, one and all.
