The physical right click button of the touchpad of my Asus n53j laptop has stopped working. Before it became completely broken, it was already hard to click like you really need to press it hard in order to recognize the click. Now the left click is almost acting the same way, it sometimes doesn't recognize light clicks. The laptop is almost 4 years.

Do you think it is dust or dirt that is causing this or the touchpad is already broken?

The only way you'll find out is by taking it apart to have a look. I do think that if it's broken it'll cost a fair bit to replace and get put in, should that be the case. It's hard to believe that there is that much of a dust build up that is clogging it to the point that it's not working at all. Although I'm just saying what I think, you'll only know until you get it opened up!
