Hopefully RIM can hang on because it's good to have choices. Just don't see how it's going to compete with iPhone and Droid. Activesync doesn't require extra software to effectively work with corporate email. BIS is a half-assed option.
A single, unified platform is the best way to make things simple for developers, as we already have tens of platforms to code for. So BBX is a good step.
