@watcha

because the iPad runs a different OS utilizing a higher screen resolution with better hardware specs than the iPhone...... and i have to ask, whats the primary use of the iPhone other then to make calls

i could only conclude either the iPad is a poor phone or the iPhone is a poor tablet or there is no real difference between a tablet and a phone

I've been telling people for a long time that Jobs is wrong, but I don't have much clout.

Just the fact that Apple themselves makes 3.5" display devices should be plenty of evidence that Jobs statement is very wrong.

[citation][nom]JMcEntegart[/nom]At least I know if I ever bite the big one as a writer, I can always get a job that requires a really crass sense of humor.[/citation]
Or perhaps scipt-writer for a whole new generation of Carry On movies?

it's not the size that matters it's the thickness and the width they want

Where do I sign up?

[citation][nom]jimlepore@mecom[/nom]Jim is a billionaire.. your some anonymous scrub bashing him on a forum.Sorry to say that makes his prediction a tad more valid than your naysaying.As an owner of 2 macs and an iphone I can safely say some of the best software on mac comes from 3rd parties and for jobs to discourage that is a self inflicted wound.[/citation]

Class warfare? Just because he has money does not mean that he is right about everything. History is full of poor folks who were geniuses, and just because he may have an MBA and went the management route does not even compare to the intellect of the engineers who are designing his products. Anyone who has become rich in America will tell you how much luck has to do with it. Many of these CEO billionaires are, to use Jim Carroll's words, "just scum."

They are the same idiots profiting off of our insurance premiums, while we pay up the ass to get simple health care for our families, they own several houses all over the world and all the while they complain about paying taxes. They should be more like Gates and give it all away. I am sure that the majority of American's would be happy as shit to have a million, while these guys keep negotiating for more each year. Besides, the majority of these billionaires really have not contributed anything of worth to theirespecific sectors...Yes, there are good examples like Dell, Jobs, Gates, Rob Taylor, etc. These guys built their empires, yet so many others merely inherited and manage empires.

Besides, your logic is flawed. I would bet the Jobs is richer than him. According to your logic, Jobs is right and he is wrong. But hey, I am just a middle-class citizen so what do I know?

[citation][nom]watcha[/nom]Don't be ridiculous. Do you not understand that there is a difference between a PHONE and a TABLET COMPUTER? Phones, by their very nature, in order to sell well and be practical to physically hold whilst talking, MUST be small, and are EXPECTED to be small. One of their SECONDARY uses is web browsing, which is clearly not as pleasant as it would be on a normal Laptop screen.TABLETS, on the other hand, are intended to PRIMARILY be used for Web browsing, so the size of the screen, no longer restricted by the customers requirements and practicality, could be larger to enhance the experience.If I was buying a tablet, all else being equal, I would always go with a 10" screen over a 7" screen, so I think Jobs has a point. Bastille also has a point that Flash is quite important for browsing.To try and reconcile Jobs' comments about a TABLET COMPUTER, with a PHONE, is ridiculous, you may aswell say that if he wants a car with wheels, that means that IPhones should have wheels too.[/citation]
A 10" screen is better that a 7" screen, but that doesn't mean that a it's useless which was what Jobs stated. A 7" screen is still big enough to be comfortable.
