Hello all,
I have a 9 year old HP Pavilion DV6T laptop of the following configuration which for normal everyday use is still very ok:
Intel Core i7-720QM Processor (1.6GHz, 6MB L2 Cache, 1333MHz FSB)
8GB DDR3 System Memory
1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 230M
WD Scorpio Black (500GB, SATA-300, 7200RPM) (That is SATA II if i understand correctly)
my question is since I am afraid that the disk might fail sometime in the future and it might slow the system a little down, would it worth to upgrade the HDD to a Samsung EVO 850 500GB SATA III SSD? Is it worth using this SATA III disk on a SATA II motherboard and will I see any improvement in day to day use or should I keep the money to upgrade in a new laptop sometime in the future? The price of the disk is around 150$.
Thank you!
