samsung Grand2 - Skype not working

I recently purchased Galaxy Grand 2 phone. I couldn't run the skype. i downloaded it from the play store.I tried to connect with installing vpn as well. But still it is not accepting my username and password.Any help on this regard is very much appropriated.

I am usually connect skype with my laptop without any problem with VPN . I am employed in Oman and same vpn installed to phone to connect skype. But my username and password not accepting by skpye.
