just two weeks shy of my two year anniversary. it started a few weeks
ago - sometimes startup times seemed pretty long. then last this week i
started checking it, and it was taking many minutes to cycle through
and come up. then it moved to not coming up at all some times. it
went into the bulb burned out mode. but occasionally it would come up
after that. then today it won't come up at all.

anyone else seeing anything like this? the original estimates were
that a bulb would last about 5 years. i am not a heavy user of tv.

i took the five-year service contract, because this is new technology.
it apparently was a sound decision.

i am not even sure that it is the bulb which is burned out. it could
just as easily be some of the relays which control the cooling fans,
etc.

well, i got to the service people, and they have given me a repair
date two weeks in the future. i ambeginning to think that. even with
new technology. you are better off not buying the contract and dealing
with the manufacturer's service people as needed. they wont
under-service their machines.
