Samsung Laptop cursor frozen

The cursor arrow on my Samsung laptop is frozen. It works when I plug in a USB mouse but not when I unplug the mouse. The touchpad is indicated as being "On" but it still does not work. Should I uninstall the touchpad driver and install a new one?

Yes, uninstall the mousepad driver, and install the latest one from the Samsung website. Also, reboot the machine.
