Samsung sound bar issue

Help. My problem is just the opposite of others I have read in this forum. I can not get the sound bar to stay off. I turn it off and hours later it turns itself back on. If I leave the cable box on, the tv audio goes on thru the sound bar. Any ideas how to get the sound bar to stop doing this?

Does the soundbar come one if the cable box is off?
If the soundbar has an auto on function it would turn itself on within a few minutes of your turning it off not hours later so it sounds like either something is broken in the soundbar or it is receiving an on command from another remote that has the same code. Try covering the IR receiver that picks up the remote and see what happens.
The pragmatic solution is to mute the soundbar rather than turning it off. You can also try connecting it to the TV rather than directly to the cable box.

Thanks. You were right on. It was the picking up from another remote. Cant believe I didnt think of that myself.
