Samsung tv samsung hometheatre stb connectivity issues

Hi. I have a Samsung TV (ua55es7500), a samsung HT system (HT-e4500) and a STB. I have connected the stb to hdmi dvi and HT system to hdmi arc in. The HT system has only 1 hdmi out. When i select external speakers on the tv settings I still dont get the audio from the HT speakers.also i have set the arc on in the HT system settings. Please advise

Did you turn ARC on in the TV menu?
If you can't get ARC to work then plan B would be to use the audio output of the STB directly to the HTS optical or analog audio input.
