An 8GB card is plenty sufficient. I have the Sanyo HD1000 and its highly efficient H.264 encoding can record over one hour of 1080i footage to the 8GB card - longer than the battery will last. Since you're talking about less than 2MB/sec, a standard class 6 card is more than fast enough to keep up. Further, there is, I believe, a 4GB file size limit which is most likely a file system limitation, so you'll have to stop/restart recording every ~40 minutes or so.

Enough already with interlaced technology. It is pointless as almost 99% of currently sold panels have progressive technology, and they have to de-interlace the video, which reduces quality for anything that moves.
