More like they need to monitor for pictures being sent of chicks not wearing their bee keeper suits. Good for RIM for not lowering security.

[citation][nom]FANAT1C[/nom]Clearly you are quite ignorant about Islam. Their policies did not match RIMs and so they dont allow them. Same with the chinese and google. Learn about the subject before you demonstrate your stupidity.[/citation]
I bet your username is fitting

Actually, I think it is you who needs to read up on Islam. Hellwig's comments were spot-on. Sharia Law is known for being particularly barbaric, and Saudia Arabia is one of the strictest Sharia Law enforcers.

[citation][nom]hellwig[/nom]"Where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face/It's barbaric, but, hey, it's home" I guess Disney got it right.Make no mistake, this wasn't done in the interest of "National Security". This was done in the interest of Islamic "morality" and maintaining the supremacy of the absolute monarchy. If they can't spy on your email, they can't be sure your following the tenets of Sharia ("Islamic Law"), nor can they be sure you aren't criticizing the King or a local religious leader. We would have long ago condemned Saudi Arabia to the axis of evil along with Iran, Korea, and Iraq (pre-war) if they didn't have so damn much delicious oil. You have to quit watching Chuck Norris movies and to start a real educational course about what is really going on in this world.

[citation][nom]back_by_demand[/nom]SA & UAE just handed RIM the world's biggest commercial advertisement. No amount of advertising dollars could have been as effective at promoting Blackberry's security credentials as what they just did by banning it.I see professional businesses about to change from BB to iPhone stop in mid-contract signing and reconsider seeing as it is so secure. Thanks a lot, on behalf of RIM, let me Sheik you by the hand.[/citation]

So true!

[citation][nom]jsc[/nom]I work in Saudi Arabia. And, yes, my company gave me a Blackberry.Hey, people. It's not about Sharia. It's not about national security. It's about control.[/citation]
You are just playing with words. Sharia is about control.

These countries like China, North Korea, and most Islamic states remind me of some kind a lame insecure boyfriend. Always checking in on his woman. Calling her a hundred times a day to see where she is. How WEAK and pitiful is that?????

[citation][nom]__-_-_-__[/nom]they should ban ipad... not bb[/citation]

They dont need to, Apple is more then happy to help the local government spy on their citizens.

Well you should worry whats going on in your own yard !!! Cause FBI is storing scanner images and taking peoples freedom.

If everyone sticks nose in they own business there wont be no wars ,and as I said WATCH YOUR OWN YARD PPL !!!

Update from Saudi Arabia:
The Saudis are going to do away with only the Blackberry Messenger service. Of course, that's what pushes my company email onto my Blackberry.
