Screen doesn't work

My Toshiba laptop screen no longer lights up. All of the lights & fans do operate. Just no picture. Any ideas?

It could be the screen or the graphics processor that's at fault.

The best way to find out is to connect to an external PC monitor and if you see a normal display, the screen is the dead part.

I disconnected the battery & charger. Then held the power button down for a 60 count. It's been working ever since.???
