Screen goes black if the lid is closed while gaming

Hi, I just bought a new Dell 7559 laptop running Windows 10 x64, and when I was in a middle of a game and then closed and opened the lid, the screen was black not even letting me pull up task manager. Happened twice with two different games. Any ideas why that might be?

I got a hunch it has to do with the on board (intel 560, which is also enabled) and dedicated (gtx 960m) graphics cards getting in the way of each other, but idk much really

Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First is to change some Power Option settings.
- Open Power Options then click on Change Plan Settings then Change Advanced Power Settings.
- Expand Hard Disk then set Turn off Hard disk after to NEVER.
- Expand Sleep and set Allow hyrbid sleep to OFF.
- Set Hibernate after to NEVER.
- Do also set Sleep Mode to Never.
- Click Apply and OK then test it again and see if the same problem will persist or not.
- Do also make sure that the mouse and keyboard are both set to wake up the laptop.
- Once done, do try disabling the settings when you close the lid.

Don't close the lid in middle of doing anything, it usually changes things with the display adapter as it switches from the laptop screen to something else, or puts the system to sleep or turns the screen off.

You can set the power options to do nothing if the lid is closed, but that won't help with the system changing graphics settings.

In short, don't mess with the laptop while in a game.
