Screen help please

I'm running my laptop with an LCD as my screen won't work. Unfortunately, it is now saying - no signal input- even though the laptop is running. I've done the Fn F3 bit, no good. Running vista with .exe issues I'm trying to fix but I can't see anything. Does anybody have any ideas? thanks in advance.

Can you maybe tell us how old the laptop is? Screens go bad sometimes on laptops and need to be replaced.

make sure you have the right key combo to switch the display. F3 on mine is Mute.

Which brand and model laptop is it?

It's a Medion Akoya P6618.. I know the screen on the unit has Ganesh and needs replacing, so I'm using the lcd. The one other or dual screen button is F3, which I have tried,no luck. Just tried the brightness -F4- button andI can see a ghostly screen with Microsoft Corporation words below a 'loading indicator bar' which is moving lt - rt, as if booting but it is hours in this mode and it is not showing on the LCD!?!

It's probably not showing on the external monitor because Windows has issues. Try turning on the laptop, then closing the lid quickly. That should force the laptop to use the external monitor as the main monitor.
