Screen is not working has vertical broad and small lines on one third of the scr

screen is not working has vertical broad and small lines on one third of the screan and the rest is black. I can hear the computer booting up and making noise but can not see anything. Any thoughts

monitor may be damaged. Test it with another PC

Bad LCD panel perhaps. Do you have external monitor hookup? Try it and see if it displays correctly. If so, I'd lean toward bad panel.
