Sd card problem-help me

I have a pentax A20 digital camera. I previously worked it with a 2gb sd card and it worked perfectly. Recently, I purchased a new 32gb card. The camera saves the photos normally but it recognizes it as 4gb card and it uses it as 4 as well. It overcomes the limit(in the owners manual, it is said that it can work with SD and SDHC without saying the maximum capacity) or there is another problem?

Being a very old camera (11 yrs old), 4GB is probably its limit. It formatted the card to what it can use.
