SD card problem

Hello all,

My computer will not recognize my SD card. It will load on my wifes computer but her HDD is getting quite full. When I put the card in MY computer it doesn't open and I can't find it in the "my computer" area. I will say that it used to open automatically but it no longer does this. The SD card reads in the camera and my wifes computer but not mine. Hers is an Apple product and I am a Windows user.

look in device manager to see if it is there or if there is any exclamation marks or unknown devices. if negative then the cardreader has mostly likely died.
