sd card will not load on computer

i have galaxy 4 phone, took my sd card and put in adapter so i could load my pics on computer. when I insert it in computer, absolutely nothing happens. It works at the store just not on my computer at home. HELP??

Is the card an SDHC card?? If it is does the reader support SDHC?

What version of windows is it?
