While I don't think it's right to commit tax evasion, I also think countries should be more competitive with their tax rates just like stores and online merchants are competitive with each other for your business.
For some reason this article says there are 20 comments, but I can only see 3, and I have no buttons to see more, so I have no idea what other people are saying. Not a fan of these changes...

We're such small men in such a big game. Instead of violence and coersion, those in power are subduing the masses through friendliness and an abundance of cheap pleasures. The only voice you have is the dollar in your pocket, and it's a very very quiet voice. Besides, who's to say we wouldn't do the same? This is the world we live in.

I get paid over $87 per hour working from home with 2 kids at home. I never thought I'd be able to do it but my best friend earns over 10k a month doing this and she convinced me to try. The potential with this is endless. Heres what I've been doing, www.ownjobs1.com

Or in other words: "congress wastes taxpayer money to deliberate in excruciating detail the degree to which they don't understand the tax code that they signed off on."

ddpruitt you way off base, are you implying the tax code is just to hard for them? What does make it easier mean? I would think the easiest route would be just to pay the taxes owed to the American people. I would think that setting up fake companies and negotiating new tax rates would be a much complex process then just paying the taxes, wouldn't you think?
We need tax reform, that is a given, but just because Apple wants to pay less in taxes doesn't mean they can go exploiting loopholes. Now, instead of fixing the tax code, congress will spend time and effort trying to close loopholes they are finding and get taxes owed.

Maybe if the Government would make it easier for businesses of all sizes to operate in US borders and focus more on paying off the deficit by not bailing out entire industries, providing weapons to drug lords in Mexico, or providing aid to countries that hate us like Egypt, then they wouldn't have to waste our tax dollars (read: Senator's wages) on stupid investigations that will do no good and only support Socialist ways instead of Capitalism.

lets be honest, either one of these companys can buy a law from our elected officials that will make it so they don't have to pay. THe real crooks are our elected officials for 1) allowing this to even happen 2) not paying any taxes themselves and 3) thinking that these mega-corps paying their share (chime G.E.) will somehow save citizens money.
The Social Security # you are provided at birth is a contract stating you will pay. your SSN is your employee number... it's literally that simple. Try getting rid of it, watch what happens.

I think the Onion got it best with their person on the street:
“You get ’em, Congress. Just because you created loopholes doesn’t mean companies should take advantage of them!”
