We will be having a 2 hour outage on June 14, 2001, begining at 9:30 PDT. We will be upgrading the Informix server software on the user database.

That should explain the outage your talking about.

oh right - difficult to track these things. I have no idea when 9.30 PDT is - it's 2.10am on the 15th where I am...

Update from there site:

— June 14, 2001 —
We had an unexpected loss of power last night that resulted in an outage of several hours. The building electrician has found a fault in a power distribution panel. He has applied a temporary fix but will be replacing the panel soon, perhaps today. This will result in an additional 2 hour outage. We will post the time as soon as we know it. The Informix upgrade has been postponed until next week. We will post the time of that as well.

This is probably what you encountered eariler.

Planned outages for the coming week:
Monday, 6/18/2001, starting at 17:00 UT. This will be a 2 hour outage to upgrade Informix on our user database.

Tuesday, 6/19/2001, starting at 15:00 UT. This will be a 3 hour outage for electrical repairs at Space Sciences Lab.
