Sharing w/ neighbor

If I subscribe to dtv w/ a 3 room package, Can't I just give my neighbors
boxes and split the bill w/ them?

I have heard people say something about a phone line, but I seem to recall
some guys telling me a few weeks ago they were doing it ?
