I have a Sharp 42" tv and the power button will not turn on anymore...will this be expensive to repair? The tv is 3 years old

Probably not, unless it does not turn on at all even with the remote. Check online for a power board for your model, add in $60 or so for labor costs if it does not turn on at all.

thank you for your reply. It cost me $160 to replace the power board, which I thought was reasonable.
