should i fix or buy new laptop

I have an Asus M50Vm-b1. It currently is working but the fan is not. when the laptop gets too hot it shuts off. is it worth it for me to fix this laptop or should i get a new one. I have opened it up before and it is pretty easy to change the fan and i think they go for $15.

Also is it possible to upgrade this laptop or better to get a new one?

are you sure it is a bad fan?

sometimes a BIOS update can fix this issue.

If the laptop still does everything you need it to do, and if you're sure the fan is shot, I think it would be silly to not fix it for the cost of a $15 fan, whether you decide to keep it or not. I say go for it.

yeah i'm sure the fan is shot. The fan on these laptops are loud and i no longer hear it or feel the air from the exhaust.

yeah your right i should. even if i get a new laptop i can keep this as a back up.
