Should I replace my Presario CQ56 DC Jack or battery?

My laptop is not charging the battery but it still work with the charging ac adapter plug in. It will die right away when I unplug it. Battery icon say "plugged in, not charging"

These are the test I've done.

1.) I have two charging ac adapter and both or them won't charge the battery but will keep the laptop working if plugged in but will die if unplugged.

2.) I used Hirens Boot CD to boot into its Linux OS and made sure it wasn't a Windows problem but it turn out with the same problem.

So should I replace my Presario CQ56 DC Jack or Battery?

Sounds like the DC Jack not pulling enough power to charge the device. You should get a replacement.

If my laptop dies right away with battery in or not when I unplug it, doesn’t that mean my battery is bad?

Yes it could mean that too, but if it's not charging it's most likely the jack.

Okay I'll replace the DC jack since it much cheaper than replacing the battery. Hope it fixes it
