Should I take the risk?

I'm looking at some Asus ROG that doesn't power up
i want an "On the go" gaming on the budget for simple games and I found this laptop
http://
I know how to fix computers and I fixed many dead computers but I'm a little worried it would need a new motherboard
I wanna keep a low price as low as I could
like getting that laptop and fixing it without replacing a motherboard, I don't mind replacing ram cause it's cheaper\upgrading
and I've got a weird passion for fixing laptops that are in a "not so good" condition, for example, a year ago I bought a trashed HP Pavilion DV6 6135dx that needed a screen and HDD and a battery, charger and it was scratched all over but now it's a near mint condition laptop but it isn't enough for gaming since it has that "switchable graphics" issue with windows 10 so... yea xD
should I risk it?

"should I?" is only something you can answer.

ebay + shipping - $100
More RAM
New hard drive or SSD
New power cable

You're already well over $200, with no guarantee of success.

Possibly new motherboard.

I won't buy everything at once though.
imma place it somewhere safe in my closet till I get everything for it but the bump here is the fact that it doesn't turn on.
are these G73 known for motherboard failures? or some other failure that prevents it from turning on?

Intel® Core™ i7 820QM Processor

Almost 9 years old.

I'm thinking $300 would get you a newer, known working system. With better parts.

Would you recommend me some laptop, please?
something with specs better than an A8 3520m and HD6750m (an upgrade from my HP)

If you want a "project", maybe.
If you want an actual working laptop for cheap, probably not.
