games workshop will not be pleased along with most miniature games makers. thier buisness models are sell a few bucks woth of plastic for $40-50 imagine if you could replicate your own. also when they get stronget materials i can see this being useful for making replacment parts.. break a mivrowave handl oh print anopther one after scanning

Something a bit bigger would be nice for scanning a whole person but I could buy a new car for that. I wonder if you can transfer it directly into Maya, 3DS MAX or a game engine.

@g00fysmiley, i don't think they're too worried. To get decent results, most 3D printer with 100 micron resolution are not enough. You need a lithographic 3D printer like the Form 1 that can do 25 micron, and that one right now costs more than 3000$. And the digitizer for another 1000-1500$. And the resin. You could buy the entire GW catalog with that amount of money, and have to spare.
