Hi,
I have a Nikon d3200 with a 18-55mm kit lens. I want a better and wider aperture lens with zoom. I was thinking of buying the sigma 17-50mm f2.8 but I also found out about the sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4. I generally shoot indoors, flowers, portraits, group photos etc... Will the 17-70mm give the same results as the other with more zoom or is the 20mm extra zoom very insignificant.
Ps- pls don't refer me prime lenses as i want a affordable zoom which is faster than the kit lens.
Thanks for your help..

Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM | C review
From what I could gather through reading reviews the 17-50mm may focus faster but then again it depends on the exact model of the lens. If you will watch the first 20 or so seconds of this video you will be able to see the difference between a 50mm zoom and a 70mm zoom. I could be mistaken but it appears as though the aperture narrows on the f2.8-4 as you zoom.
