are athlon MPs and XPs identical, except for the unlocked bridges? and if so, can a athlon XP mobo use a athlon MP CPU?

athlonXP price + conductive pen price < athlonMP price

but i prefer a factory unlocked CPU, like my good ol` t-bird... =)

lol....well yes the MP's will work in an "XP" board....its not an XP board...its a Socket 462(A) board....which will work with Durons, Athlon Thunderbirds, Athlon XP and MP........same identical chip......just the multipliers r unlocked and and L5 bridge or whatever it is that determines whether its an MP or XP isnt cut.....

And u dont NEED a conductive pen dude....get Liquid Solder...REALLY easy to use/work with..trust me.....i did tit o my XP 1600+...took me 15 minutes in total...... =)

no...its not the same....i guess its similar....

u just get somethign small...like a pin even..put some liquid solder on a piece of paper...dip the pin in it...and draw the connection.......than u can use either a soldering iron....a lighter...or a torch lighter thing....and heat the lines up a bit so it turns solid...and ur done...and no u wont damage ur CPU by doing this....trust me =)
