skype not receive files

hi does anyone has the problem receiving a file or anything from skype in windows xp...i have a problem went i sent to other people the can receive but if i want to receive the file i cannot receive. it show download but nothing can be download.

please help i'm using windows xp for my old pc at work.

maybe filtered out by the company network
firewall or antivirus filter
which file file type is it? Is it a compressed file like .zip, .rar,...?

emmm...the network is not filter because other people using such as windows 7 and above is transfering file ok..the type file i think most of the doc,pdf,txt file or any exe file

Is XP up to date? All service packs installed?

Skype latest version installed?
3rd party firewall installed on it?
Which antivirus is installed?

yeah it the latest version for xp..
there are no 3rd party firewall install
the antivirus is avast free

skype up to date too?
exe won´t work to transfer, you have to rename it to e.g. ex1

uninstall skype via windows programs uninstallation
then:
delete the whole Skype folder in AppData, including all history, dbs, caches, settings, logs etc.
