Every time I open an application or browser in my laptop which is Acer Windows 7, it does not response immediately. Sometimes I have to wait for like 5 minutes and it is very frustrating. This laptop does not have large files like movies or games that would make it slow and the anti virus is always updated. My laptop is like 5 years old now. Do you think it needs a RAM upgrade?

Solution
1. Download Malwarebytes and do a scan. This will find malware on your laptop.
2. Download ADWCleaner and do a scan. This will remove adware.
3. Download HDDRegenarator and scan your HDD with it. This will find bad sectors on your HDD. DO THIS ONLY IF YOU USE AN HDD, DON'T USE IT IF YOU USE AN SSD

Virus?
I never had any luck with laptops. Work keeps offering to "upgrade" me to a lap top.
Anyways, if you have not changed anything, likely culprits would be a virus, or perhaps you are having a failure on your hard disk. It will hang for a while while it tries to access a part of the disk.
