Smart tv channel search

I have a smart tv and a satellite dish that's connected to my skybox. If I want to watch the channels on my smart tv and not the skybox, how does the smart tv find channels? When I search there's no channels found?!

Have you attached an aerial to the TV?
After you do that and select for over the air broadcast then you would run channel scan. The distance and direction from the transmitters and the quality and type of aerial will affect how many channels you get.
