So I have a ZTE phone that I got from a friend. The screen was already shattered but i got a case for Christmas anyway one day

Take it out of the case, remove the back and the battery then put it in a bowl, face down.

Cover it with uncooked rice grains and they will absorb any remaining liquid after a while. It may be too late but it's worth a shot.
