software glitch problem

My Samsung Y GT-S5360 has a problem....the phone keeps turning on and off repeatedly. Please advise.

Does the charging light/screen come on when you plug it in?
When you turn it on, how much of a charge does it indicate that it currently has?
Does it stay turned on when it's plugged in?
